All of use are subject to hundreds of messages each day.  The idea behind this community is to provide a place where there are positive messages about staying safe in a culture where alcohol consumption is promoted and glamorized.

This community is intended to be a resource to support people with alcohol and substance abuse issues so that they can function safely in society.  Some basic resources are available here 24 hours a day 7 days a week.  There are tools to use and people to talk to.  There are expert and laymen here with all kinds of different perspectives.

A Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) is the cut off for determining impaired driving across the United States. But what is BAC? BAC is the amount of alcohol in a person’s body which is measured by the weight of the alcohol in a specific volume of blood. When consumed, alcohol is immediately absorbed into the blood stream where it begins to travel to the brain. It does not matter what type of alcohol is consumed. A typical drink contains about a half ounce of pure alcohol. Whether beer, wine or liquor, the actual alcohol content remains the same.
